Common Habits That Damage Our Health Without Us Even Knowing it

Although we find it more comfortable to brush our hair when leaving the shower, it is convenient to wait for it to dry since, otherwise, we could damage them.

In general, we don’t stop to think about what we do well and what we do badly every day. However, we surely have some common habits that damage our appearance, or that may affect our health.

The problem is that if we notice it, the damage can be done or very close. That is why we decided to show you some common habits that damage the appearance and what we do without realizing that they can harm us.

Common Habits That Harm Our Health:

1. Cross Legs

This is a common position among women. Many associate it with elegance. However, when sitting cross-legged, the blood flow is disturbed and decreases, causing problems such as varicose veins.

Also, it is a posture that leads to back pain and problems in the reproductive organs. This is due to the pressure exerted on the leg for long periods.

2. Take Showers With Hot Water

For many people, this is an act that seems fascinating and relaxing. Without realizing it, high temperatures affect the skin. As if it were a sunburn, altering the natural balance of the skin.

For that reason, sometimes you can favor the appearance of irritation, pruritus, or dryness. It is recommended to lower the water temperature, in addition to the time you spend in the shower.

And do not forget the use of products that are moisturizers and have no aggressive effects on the skin. If possible, those with strong odors should be avoided, as well as those with coarse particles that may cause damage.

3. Comb Hair Immediately After Showering

This is another common habit, an action that is performed almost automatically. However, it causes a lot of damage to the health of the hair, since this, when it is wet, is much more fragile than when it is dry.

So, if you wet your hair, you are more likely to break and fall.

  • If you want to keep your hair healthy, it is recommended that you dry your hair gently with a towel.
  • Then let it dry naturally before brushing.
  • Regardless of the length of your hair, start brushing it from the tips.

4. Use Exaggerated Scrub

Sometimes we believe that with the use of scrubs our face will remain free of imperfections. The problem is that it is often exaggerated with daily use and we cause an increase in fat production or dry skin.

For this reason,  specialists disagree with exfoliating creams. Instead, they use peeling creams formulated based on lactic acid or glycolic acid is recommended.

5. The Thinking Posture

This is a very common position that we adopt without realizing it, usually when we are concentrating reading sitting at the computer.

By adopting this posture, the hand presses on the chin.  This, although light, is getting the hyoid bone to move gradually, almost imperceptibly.

This results in an obstruction of blood circulation in the area and, as a consequence, the jowl is formed. It also accelerates premature skin aging.

6. Touching Your Face Constantly

We usually run our hands over our faces several times a day without realizing it. This we do automatically and are not always clean.

This action can cause skin problems. Irritations or acne are frequent since dirt and bacteria accumulate in your hands that, without realizing it, immediately pass to your face when touched.

7. Sunscreen Only On the Face

The damage in the ozone layer is increasing, which causes the sun’s rays to penetrate more directly, causing greater damage to our skin. Many times we make the mistake of putting sunscreen only on the skin of the face, thought to be the exposed part.

It is important that when leaving the house we apply sunscreen on the face. But you also have to do it in the arms, in the neckline and in all parts of the body that are exposed to the sun’s rays. This will prevent premature aging and skin blemishes.

8. Lie Down Without Removing Makeup

Many times we get tired of a party and go to bed at once without removing makeup from our faces. This makeup accumulates in the pores, clogging them and causing an infection that then transforms into acne.

Before bedtime it is always necessary to apply a cleansing product, then wash the face and, finally, apply moisturizer.

These are all common habits, which we often do without realizing it. But you have been able to see how its effects can be harmful, for beauty and health. In your hand is to avoid them!
